WHY GET KILLED? | GET SKILLED! A WAKE UP CALL FOR YOUTHS:- Enyinnavictorblog
The untimely death of thousands of young people can be attributed to frustration caused by joblessness, suicide, while others are being killed for engaging in criminal activities. The only excuse for meeting their Waterloo in most cases early graves is not having a job, their some of them most times do have good certificate and able bodies. Many more are swelling the rank of this painful wastage, albeit their own lives are being wasted differently. They are languishing in jail, in their dozens and thousands.
Youths all over the world waste away with all the potentials in them that forever remain untapped. In Nigeria, we have heard in recent times, although condemnable, the high rise of Jungle Justices(Barbaric Killing) ranging from the burning alive of criminals catch in the act to Beating to death, etc. Thefts, Internet Frauds, 419, Kidnapping, Ritual Killings, Drug Abuse & Dealings, Terrorism and Armed Robbery hold great attraction for many young people. They often exhibit great brilliance in their chosen but odious profession that will shame even the best of criminals in the world likes of hushpuppy, etc. Had such great inherent potentials been used positively, the world and such youth would have been better for it. This is where skill acquisition and entrepreneurship comes in. To our teeming number of jobless youth we ask, "Why get killed? Get Skilled, live and make more youth live."
Skill acquisition seems like the world's clarion call today. The developing nations of the world appears to be waking up to the importance of skills in every society's development. Skill and entrepreneurship acumen are two gaint pillars on which nations' development lean. Developed countries like America, France, China, Great Britain, etc have the enviable height they attain today through the resourcefulness and foresightedness of their skillful men and women, who dared to turn their skills into development miracle wands. Great economies of the world have their great attainment and advancement rooted on the multiple efforts of their resourceful entrepreneurs. Ford the great American legend, an entrepreneur of enviable repute, created the paradigm shift in production. He is the investor of mass transport production, which the whole world has keyed into with maximal blessings. He was just a mechanic and his crafting skills soon turned into a Global corporation Ford Motors. His legacy has not just benefitted America but the world at large. Heinz, another American entrepreneur turned small agricultural and food production skills into a Global brand. Meals in millions of homes worldwide are incomplete without many of his products: Baked Beans, Sweet Corn, Tomato Ketchup, etc. He is long gone but his companies and products still speak for him.
The world's advancement, be it in agriculture, technology, medicine, arts, entertainment industry, etc own it's fast and grandiose pace to men and women who dared to have their various skills honed and developed into great enterprises. George Washington Carver moved the agricultural sector further than he met it. His skills with agricultural production has given the world more than 300 products from peanuts, 118 from sweet potatoes, 75 from pecan, synthetic marbles from wood shavings, dyes from clay, starch, gum wallboard from cotton stalks.
Many George Washington Carver's still walk in our streets crying for employment; people whose natural talents and honed skills would have made employers of labour. Bill Gates the skillful computer genius has bridged communication gap with his computer software products Microsoft. Hence, Microsoft has become a brand everybody wants to be identified with. It all started as a small computing skill married to a great entrepreneurship vision. Elon Musk also one of the world richest men, on his part with Tesla, Space X, is making waves globally, yet still breaking limit.
Where are our youths who claimed to be Unemployed? Bill Gates was too, I don't think he ever worked under anyone, but his little skills turned into a great company that has made millionaires than any other corporation can boast of. Are you quite the excuse wagon? Get a skill and skip poverty.
In all fields of endeavor today, men and women who started with little skills are not only the world's movers and shakers but also today world changers. The Wright brothers by their engineering skills taught the world to fly; Mark, the Facebook boss has prefected social network with his skillful product Facebook. Nigerians are doing great internationally with the likes of Dangote, Otedola, Tony Elumelu, etc the developed their trading skills.
In conclusion: The world at large awaits your impact. The time to start is now, no matter how small it may look, overtime the results of your efforts today may shock the world in the future. Instead of aiming ourselves with destructive weapon, it's time we arm ourselves with impactful skill to save our future generations that solely depend on today's action. Know that you're the change you will like to see in the world.
